The Emergency Food Pantry at St. Pauls

The food pantry at St. Paul's is open every Wednesday from 12:00 (noon) -3:00pm and Saturdays from 10am-1:00pm. To receive assistance, you must live within our boundaries, which are 50th Street on the west and I-70 on the south, and the Wyandotte county line on the north and east. You must bring a Social Security card and other form of ID to receive services.

The pantry is requesting Sam's size cooking oil, sugar, coffee, laundry soap and dishwashing soap that will be broken down into smaller quantities.

Here is some information if you are interested in volunteering in the pantry.

St. Paul's EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY: SATURDAY volunteers- The Pantry opens to the neighbors from 10 am to 1:00 pm. Volunteers are encouraged to arrive by 9:30 am to help breakdown bulk items, stock shelves, and unload the van bringing donated food from Whole Foods. When the pantry opens at 10:00 you will be assigned a job by one of the managers. While there are many jobs, the pantry would especially like to have trained staff working in our office areas processing current registered neighbors and registering new ones using the MAACLink computer program. Everyone is done by 1:15 – 1:30 PM.

WEDNESDAY volunteers – The Pantry opens to the neighbors from 12:00 pm to 3:00 PM. Volunteers are encouraged to arrive by 11 – 11:30 AM to help breakdown bulk items, stock shelves, and unload the vans/trucks bringing donated food from Harvesters/area stores donated bread products. When the pantry opens at 12:00 PM you will be assigned a job by one of the managers. We also need trained staff to work in the office areas using the MAACLink program. Everyone is done by about 3:15 – 3:30 PM.

You will meet some genuinely nice people, it will make you feel good that you have spent your time providing a worthwhile service and it only takes a few hours of your time! There will always be veteran volunteers at the Pantry to help and support our new people.

If you have questions about volunteering or donations to the pantry, please contact Kim Palmer or Deacon Gail Reynolds.
